Adam Silver is disappointed that the Warriors will not be invited to the White House but he's proud of his players taking a stand. "I was in favor of the team visiting the White House and thought it was a rare opportunity for these players to share their views directly with the President," Silver said in a statement. "I am disappointed that that will not happen. More importantly, I am proud of our players for taking an active role in their communities and continuing to speak out on critically important issues."

From talking to players, it's clear Trump comments were a major topic of discussion in NFL locker rooms, charter flights, group texts, etc. on Saturday. Lots of discussion about what should/shouldn't be done at games Sunday. It's important to remember that these locker rooms all have players in them who have supported Trump as well as those who haven't, and that creates some emotional dialogue. But a lot of these guys are angry. There's definitely a sense of "We can't just sit here and take this" from some players. My guess is there will be new forms of protest at games Sunday, but it's hard to predict any consistency on how different players and different teams will handle it. This is likely to be the story of Week 3, at the very least.

Parker vs. Fury

Boxing

Joseph Parker had a frustrating second defence of his WBO world heavyweight title but insisted he deserved the win by a majority decision over Hughie Fury at the Manchester Arena. The New Zealander won by scores of 118-110, 118-110 and 114-114 after struggling to land clean blows on the English boxer, who showed good movement. But Parker felt he had done enough to beat the cousin of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. "I felt the aggression was good on my side," said Parker. "He was really awkward and his movement was good. But I caught him with the harder punches I felt."
